The Hum is a horror run down a maintenance corridor that never ends: a thousand metres to cover while the Maintainer gains ground behind you. The hum you hear from the start is him. Your TikTok live audience is split into two teams: whoever sends red gifts speeds the monster up, whoever sends green gifts gives you the breath to escape. It runs on Roblox, so there is nothing to download: all you need is a Roblox account linked in your profile on the site.

How a run works

The corridor builds itself ahead of you, one segment at a time, and takes itself apart behind you: it is endless, but the finish is fixed at 1000 metres. You walk at 6 m/s, run at 8 by holding sprint, and with the turbo gifted by the green team you reach 9.5. The Maintainer moves at 5.6 m/s: with no gifts, on his own, he never catches you — the kill is always signed by the chat.

The distance from the monster is a real number the server updates every instant: it starts at 35 metres, never goes past 60 (if you stay too far ahead he closes back in), and if it drops to 2 metres he gets you. At the top, the metre bar shows your dot and the Maintainer's dot on the same line, with the "THE MAINTAINER AT N m" caption turning red when he is on top of you. The first seconds of a round are grace time: nobody dies at the start.

You play in first person: Shift is the manual sprint (the gift turbo starts on its own, with nothing to hold down) and Q makes you glance back for a moment without stopping. The mouse stays locked to the view: to click something on screen, free it with left Alt.

Stamina is your limit: sprinting burns it at 16 points a second and it refills at 9 when you stop. Below 15 you are out of breath and the sprint locks until you get back above 30. The green gifts' turbo, on the other hand, ignores stamina — it is free fuel. But running flat out for more than 5 seconds straight heats you up: crossing a puddle in that state gives you a one in four chance of tripping, meaning 1.2 seconds on the ground and a slow restart. Even the green team, showering you with boost, can put you on the floor.

Along the way there are three fire doors, at 252, 504 and 744 metres: you shoulder them open at a run, they slam behind you and hand you 6 metres of lead plus a second and a half of stable light. They are the run's only breather. The further you get, the worse the corridor becomes: the ceiling lights flicker, the red emergency lights come on, pipes narrow the passage, and at 980 metres the hum stops — the game's first silence is also its worst moment. At the end there is the EXIT door, the only cold light in the whole run.

Once a run is over — out the door or caught — you go back to the interval screen, with the score of the two teams, the number of the corridor just generated and the ▶ START button: the next round begins when you press it, with a three-second countdown. The corridor is reshuffled every time. If you win several runs in a row the Maintainer gets angry — 0.15 m/s more for every consecutive win, up to +0.9 — and the first death resets the count.

What the gifts do

These are the five actions you can link to TikTok gifts from the dashboard. Three play for the red team (catch the player), two for the green one (get them to the end).

ActionWhat it doesThe amount
monster_speedSpeeds the Maintainer up. On top of the background pressure, every gift gives him a 3-second charge that drops him right on you.Hundredths of a metre per second: 8 is worth +0.08 m/s
sprint_boostFills the turbo tank (2 seconds at 9.5 m/s per gift, up to 8) and gives the player stamina back.Stamina points
blackoutThe power cuts out: 3 seconds of total darkness and the monster jumps 12 metres closer.Ignored
full_powerFull power: 8 seconds of white light, the monster slowed to 5 m/s with the red lead wiped, full stamina and 4 seconds of turbo.Ignored
jumpscareA black face surfaces at the end of the corridor, charges you and fills your screen with a scream. It takes away no metres and no lead: it is pure fright.Ignored

The duel is tuned so that neither side can close it alone. The red lead burns off: it loses 0.03 m/s every second, so the pressure has to be kept up gift after gift, not bought once. At most it reaches +2.2 m/s (monster at 7.8), which stays under the green turbo: whoever donates green always buys some hope. And no bought kills — neither a single gift's charge nor the blackout's jump can bring the monster closer than 4 metres to you.

The two big gifts have 45 seconds of cooldown each (15 for the jumpscare): if another one arrives while the first is recharging it is not wasted, but degrades into a small effect — a speed nudge for red, a bit of turbo and stamina for green. It is there to stop two wallets from locking each other out with rapid fire.

Linking gifts to actions

The "this gift does this thing" rules are written in the dashboard, in the Events & Actions tab: you create a "Gift (specific)" Event, link an action to it and inside the action pick the The Hum box with the code and the amount. In a single action you can put up to five game actions, if you want one gift to do several things at once.

You do not have to start from scratch: the dashboard's The Hum panel has a ready-made profile, The Hum — Duello Base (file tikforge-azioni-eventi-the-hum-duello-base.json), to load with "Import JSON" or by pasting the profile code with "Import Profile". Inside there are thirteen ready actions: five monster steps (+0.08, +0.15, +0.25, +0.40, +0.60), five sprint steps (+15, +25, +40, +70, +100 stamina), plus blackout, full power and jumpscare. All you have left to decide is which TikTok gift goes on which step.

Before you go live, two things: the TikTok @ linked in your profile has to be the one you stream from, and the session has to be started from the dashboard — without it the game just sits there and gifts make nothing happen. The Roblox link, on the other hand, is automatic: your Roblox username in the profile's "Connections" card is enough, and as soon as you enter the game with that account the bridge opens by itself.

On screen, the gift legend shows your audience who does what, with the real gift images: the green column on the left, the red one on the right. If you have just changed the setup and want to see it in game right away, use ⟳ Sync gifts in the menu.

The in-game menu

The menu is the ⚙ button on the left edge of the screen, outside the vertical frame of the stream: it opens on click (no keyboard shortcut, and in first person the mouse has to be freed first with left Alt). It is there for the production side — fitting the legend and the HUD into the frame — not for changing the rules of the run.

ItemWhat you find there
GIFTHow big the on-screen gift legend is, from 60% to 160%.
HUDHow big the rest of the interface is (metre bar, gauges, popups).
Gift legendShows or hides the legend entirely.
Move giftsUnlocks the legend entries so you can drag them wherever you want in the frame.
↺ Reset positionsPuts everything back where it started.
⟳ Sync giftsReloads the legend from the site right away, without waiting for the automatic refresh.

There is no Sky section like in the other TikForge Roblox games: here all you have above your head is a ceiling of pipework, the sky is never in view.

Things worth knowing

  • The fear does not come from numbers: the corridor has four states — safe, tense, danger, critical — and it tells you which one on its own. The hum rises in pitch and distorts, the vignette tightens, the camera shakes, the lights behind you die. Even if the chat covers half the screen, you can tell who is winning.
  • The monster does not chase "at random": his distance is simulated by the server, so he never gets stuck, never loses the way and reacts to gifts instantly. He shows himself rarely and never in full light: the scarcity is half the fear.
  • Getting caught is not a game over: there is the kill cam, the score of the two teams and then the next round whenever you want it. The stream does not stop.
  • Try it before going live: bottom right there is the ACTION TEST panel — pick the action with the arrows, type the amount and press ▶ Run. It does exactly what a real gift would do, so you can tune the values without waiting for anyone.
  • The jumpscare is free for whoever sends it: it does not shift the balance of the run by a millimetre. It is the gift your audience will use to make you scream, not to make you lose.
  • Reaching the end counts: when you get out the door the win lands on the shared counter of your TikForge account, together with the ones from the other games.
